These bookend holidays are great and invite plenty of opportunity for eating, drinking and being merry. But May also brings one holiday that I'm particularly fond of and that's the holiday right in the middle. Mother's day is a great day to celebrate the special lady in your life. One thing I love about this holiday is the creativity and authenticity that it brings out in sons and daughters when creating that memorable something to give to Mom. As a mom myself, something that I've always loved is the surprise breakfast in bed on Mother's day. It is the one day that I can sit back, relax and let someone else create the menu line up, do the cooking and wash the dishes, without me lifting one teeny little finger. **![360x360\_strawberryscones](https://berrybuzz.calgiant.com/hubfs/15_Buzz_Blog_Photo_Updates/360x360_strawberryscones.jpg)** [**Strawberry Scones**](http://calgiant.com/blog/2015/02/10/strawberry-scones/) These beauties are as sweet and light as you imagine. There is nothing better than waking up to the smell of these baking in the oven with the anticipation that they will soon be served up with a cup of hot coffee to savor them with. [**Pancakes with Fresh Strawberry Sauce**](http://calgiant.com/blog/2012/06/29/fast-fresh-strawberry-sauce/) Need I say more? Top your favorite pancakes with this simple sauce that will have mom truly impressed with your culinary skills. Hint: This recipe is as impressive as it is easy to make. Super simple! **![360x360\_strawberrybruschetta](https://berrybuzz.calgiant.com/hubfs/15_Buzz_Blog_Photo_Updates/360x360_strawberrybruschetta.jpg)** [**Strawberry and Brie Bruschetta**](http://calgiant.com/blog/2012/06/29/strawberry-and-brie-bruschetta/) For the mom with a bit of a sophisticated palette, try this rustic yet refined recipe that marries sweet, savory, salty and everything in between. [**Elaine's Honey Berry Smoothie**](http://calgiant.com/blog/2012/06/26/elaines-honey-berry-smoothie/) This is the perfect recipe to whip up and serve to mom before the main course. The honey and the orange juice will brighten her day at first sip. [**Fresh Strawberry Jam**](http://calgiant.com/blog/2010/10/04/fresh-strawberry-jam/) This clever recipe doubles as a sweet topper to toasts, croissants, waffles, pancakes, etc. but also wraps up nicely in a mason jar and given as a homemade gift. I also love the thought that goes into the menu planning. From one year to the next, my family never ceases to surprise me with the love that goes into the dishes that they prepare. In this edition of The Buzz, I'm going to share 5 of my favorite recipes that I hope you'll consider making for a very special mother in your life this Sunday. Here's wishing you the happiest of days this Sunday and every day. Happy Mother's Day!
