Growing up, my mom would make me turkey and cheese sandwiches Monday through Thursday, and a PB&J sandwich every Friday as a special treat! Little did she know, I was trading my turkey sandwiches all week long for my best friend's PB&J's (sorry, mom). So, you could say I'm kind of a big fan. Fifteen years later and the PB&J is back and better than ever *as a parfait*. It's everything I loved about the classic PB&J, with a fresh, healthy twist that I just can't get enough of! I simply replaced the bread with this sweet Medjool date crumble and the jelly with fresh California Giant strawberries, and the outcome is to-die-for. You have to give it a try! What's your favorite #TBT recipe?  ![peanut butter berry parfait](https://berrybuzz.calgiant.com/hs-fs/hubfs/cal%20giant%20january-12.jpg?width=720&name=cal%20giant%20january-12.jpg "peanut butter berry parfait") **Ingredients** *For the date mixture:* 1/2 cup almonds or pecans 1/2 cup pitted Medjool dates 1/2 cup oats 1/2 teaspoon cinnamon 1 teaspoon good vanilla extract *layer with:* California Giant strawberries Your favorite peanut butter (I used creamy JIF) **Instructions** In a food processor, combine ingredients for the date mixture. Pulse until mixture is crumbly. Refrigerate until ready to use. In a mason jar, assemble by layering the date mixture, peanut butter and berries. Repeat until full. Enjoy! ![peanut butter berry parfait](https://berrybuzz.calgiant.com/hs-fs/hubfs/cal%20giant%20january-8.jpg?width=720&name=cal%20giant%20january-8.jpg "peanut butter berry parfait") ![peanut butter berry parfait](https://berrybuzz.calgiant.com/hs-fs/hubfs/cal%20giant%20january-9.jpg?width=720&name=cal%20giant%20january-9.jpg "peanut butter berry parfait") Tags [Dorm Room Friendly](https://berrybuzz.calgiant.com/topic/dorm-room-friendly), [Hacks, Tips & Tricks](https://berrybuzz.calgiant.com/topic/hacks-tips-tricks), [Strawberry](https://berrybuzz.calgiant.com/topic/strawberry), [Sweet Treats](https://berrybuzz.calgiant.com/topic/sweet-treats) Posts you might enjoy... ![](https://berrybuzz.calgiant.com/hs-fs/hubfs/Untitled_design_24-1.png?width=350&name=Untitled_design_24-1.png) [TRENDING COCKTAIL: Blackberry Bourbon Cider](https://berrybuzz.calgiant.com/blackberry-bourbon-cider) ![](https://berrybuzz.calgiant.com/hs-fs/hubfs/grilled-corn-salad-3-768x1152.jpg?width=350&name=grilled-corn-salad-3-768x1152.jpg) [Berry Fresh & Filling Salads for the New Year!](https://berrybuzz.calgiant.com/fresh-berry-salads) ![](https://lh6.googleusercontent.com/eKr3xQE9DWjKzwdz2IL5sl23wQ0nq1lNFBfxcYe1ceG0UpFxyuGTs5UyYV2yx24GWiJEtCRXMXCYKFc74blayXIQVrDiFR6IneVGbfE0SyKVLdIYvGs7hn0lb0qMpd7UC2YFYmdl=s0) [Kid-Friendly Halloween Treats](https://berrybuzz.calgiant.com/kid-friendly-halloween-treats) You might also enjoy...
