What’s better than fresh California Giant strawberries? Fresh California Giant strawberries, blackberries and blueberries on a cake. With vanilla butter cream frosting. And flowers for an added dash of fun. Are you with me?!
How perfect would this cake be for a summer wedding? Or a wedding (or baby!) shower. Any bride-to-be would be delighted to have this at her wedding or shower, and the best part is, you (the best maid-of-honor ever) can make it for her!
For our version, I used my favorite white cake recipe with vanilla butter cream frosting. I used 12x2” cake pans, which gives the end result that wedding cake look.
After you have assembled the cake, you can start decorating with the strawberries, blueberries, blackberries and flowers. I started by making a layer of strawberries, and then sprinkled the blueberries and blackberries on top, so they can fall between the cracks of the strawberries. Continue layering in a pyramid style, until you have three layers. Top it off with fresh flowers and eucalyptus leaves, or whatever greenery you have on hand. Serve with champagne :)
