Patriotic Popsicles

As an American, there's so much to look forward to in the next couple of months. Not only is Labor Day weekend THIS weekend (I can't believe it's already September!), but the election is upon us and I'm looking forward to the upcoming debates... between Strawberry and Blueberry, that is.

In honor of our Red State or Blue State Sweepstakes, I whipped up these patriotic popsicles. These are the perfect sweet treat to cool you down when the berry debates are heating up, or to enjoy poolside this Labor Day weekend!

Serves 10

Ingredients:

1 heaping cup California Giant strawberries

1 cup California Giant blueberries

1 cup vanilla flavored Greek yogurt

Instructions:

Using a food processor or blender, puree the strawberries until smooth. Set aside and do the same thing with the blueberries.

Fill each popsicle mold, starting with the blueberry puree in the bottom. Layer the yogurt and strawberry puree, alternating to create red and white stripes. Push in the popsicle sticks and place the popsicle mold in the freezer. Freeze until firm.

*I like my popsicles a little rustic, but for straighter lines, place the popsicle mold in the freezer after you add each layer. This will allow each layer to harden (so the colors don't mix) and will result in straight red and white stripes.
