The Perfect Thanksgiving Spread

Thank goodness it's almost Thanksgiving! It's the holiday that brings my family and friends together in the kitchen and around the dinner table. We love cooking together! For us, preparations start weeks in advance and lately we've been exchanging recipes left and right. Though we are still brainstorming, we have narrowed down a few of the essential dishes we will prepare to make the perfect Thanksgiving spread.

We'll begin celebrating our bounty of blessings with this colorful salad.

Blackberry Squash SaladWhen you hear salad, iceberg lettuce and croutons may come to mind - but not on Thanksgiving! With this blackberry and acorn squash salad, we're definitely bringing that WOW factor. It is our colorful choice for starting off dinner and setting the tone for the rest of delicious culinary experience together.

This blueberry balsamic glaze will make our Thanksgiving turkey so delicious- it'll be the stuff of Thanksgiving legend!

Blueberry Balsamic Glaze

One of our family traditions is that we like to try different ways of dressing and preparing our turkey every year. This year we have decided to keep things traditional and bake it in the oven, but to add something different, we are going to glaze it with blueberry balsamic. We can not wait to taste it!

Even the kids' table will love this new take on a Thanksgiving classic.Shiitake Mushroom and Green Bean Casserole

Green beans are a staple in our Thanksgiving spread, and we've never seen a green bean recipe as interesting as this one. That's why it's made our 2018 list of dishes to try! It includes ingredients like blueberries, mushrooms and almonds. How will the tart blueberries mix with the taste of the shiitake mushrooms and green beans and pecans? I am so ready to be blown away by this unique combination!

Sweet potato mash with roasted blueberries and toasted marshmallows will have guests coming back for seconds... and thirds!

Sweet Potato Casserole

Not everyone who is coming over for Thanksgiving is the biggest fan of sweet potato but they know a good thing when they see it! Who can deny the deliciousness of tart blueberries, buttery pecans and ooey-gooey marshmallows? With those three sitting on top of this sweet concoction, it might  just inspire them to give sweet potatoes another shot this year!

Pumpkin spice and everything nice are some of the ingredients needed for this pumpkin cake!

Blackberry Pumpkin Spice Cake

We love pumpkin!  It's become tradition that we bake at least three pumpkin pies so that everyone gets their fill. Because we love pumpkin so much, this year we want to introduce a new way to taste it. This cake has all the thrill of a pumpkin pie but with the added excitement of frosting and blackberries! I wouldn't be surprised if next year we'll want to bake 3 of these too!
