"When are we getting there?" - Every mother's favorite thing to hear on a road trip.
My extended family lives about 10 hours away from me, so it's easy to say that I'm used to a nice, long car ride. I get to jam in my car to whatever song I want, whenever I want, and no one will complain about it. The only real downside is the food situation. I hate to drive through a fast food chain or take my chance on gas station food when I go on the road.
Not only does fast food make me feel bad throughout the day, it also costs me money and extra time stopping so often. That's why I'm writing this blog; to share ways you can save time, money AND calories with these tasty, nutritious recipes.
Here are a few of my go-to recipes to help me get on the road again:
Skip the greasy drive thru breakfast sandwich and reach for a homemade breakfast wrap! Roll up the night before, heat up and go - it's that simple. You're already getting up before the roosters, don't start your day off on an upset tummy and bad coffee.
This is one of our most popular recipes for a reason - they're that tasty. Don't get the sugary bomb of a granola bar in the gas station, make these the day before for a perfect on-the-go snack during those afternoon munchies. No extra stops required!
These are for the kiddos (or kids at heart)! Not only are gummies super fun to make, they're also fun to eat. Toss these in a bag for those "I'm hungry, mom!" moments that are inevitable on any road trip. Or just keep a few for yourself, the kids won't notice...
