Ah, nothing screams summer like fresh lemonade. Regardless what age I am, I will always be a lemonade-lover. There are so many ways to make a great lemonade this summer – you can add mint, cucumber and our favorite addition: berries!
An easy way to incorporate berries into a lemonade recipe is by adding your berry of choice into a blender, straining and discarding seeds and combining your berry and lemonade mixture to your pitcher.
I personally love a sparkling blackberry mint lemonade. I made this recipe a few weeks ago for some girlfriends I had over on a hot afternoon, and it hit the spot! It was sweet, tangy and so easy to make. I think the lemon seltzer water added a fun, bubbly touch that I’d definitely incorporate again.
To replicate the recipe I used, simply combine two cups of water and sugar into a saucepan and boil. Add some lemon zest and juice and cool slightly. I added a few handfuls of blackberries to a blender, strained and discarded seeds and added this mixture to my pitcher along with the lemon water mixture. I added a few mint leaves for garnish, ice cubes and some seltzer into each glass rather than the full pitcher to avoid having a flat-lemonade in a few hours!
For a delicious lemonade cocktail, I love our Strawberry Lemonade Spritzer – and talk about easy to make! Add strawberries and champagne to your blender, then blend until smooth. Add the mixture to each glass and top with sparkling lemonade and garnish with strawberries. Simple, sweet and another fun (adult-take) on classic lemonade!
